Technology giant Google has designed VR180 Creator: New video editing tool for Mac and Linux computing platforms. Google claims that with the help of VR180 users will be able to capture wide-angle and 4K resolution 3D immersive photos and videos through affordable cameras and then view them in either 2D or 3D. The tool will help users to create and edit high-resolution VR videos.
The VR180 Creator basically converts 3D VR photos and videos into two-dimensional ones. The VR180 footage can be edited with the help of VR video tools, letting you first convert the video footage into a standard format and then go for editing while making use of software such as Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro. The video footage can be shared after the addition of VR180 metadata.
There are two features available for VR videos. These are;
- Convert for Publishing, and
- Prepare for Publishing.
Convert for Publishing feature allows you to take raw fisheye footage from VR180 cameras and then convert it into standardized equidirect projection.
Then, for editing, software like Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro will come in handy for the creators. The second feature- Prepare for Publishing- will re-inject VR180 metadata to enable 2D/VR viewing on Google Photos or YouTube.
In a blog post, Google said that its VR180 Creator will simplify video editing for creators. Google has also brought out its VR180 app through which you can seamlessly upload to Google Photos or YouTube as well as allow users to go for livestreaming directly.
